And the Best Visual Identity in Healthcare is...
IE Brand’s work on the new Community Pharmacy England (CPE) brand has been shortlisted at the Transform Awards Europe 2024.
Transform named it one of the best visual identities in the healthcare and pharmaceuticals sector.
Moving closer to members
Community Pharmacy England is the new name for the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC). The rebrand to Community Pharmacy England went far deeper than a new name and visual identity. It represented a real shift for the organisation in both behaviours and communications.
Community Pharmacy England has worked hard to shift perceptions and become the champion that community pharmacy owners really need, as they wrestle with seemingly endless commercial and policy pressures. The new logo therefore takes inspiration from the symbol of a green cross, traditionally used to represent the pharmacy sector.
The visual identity is based around core colours of Aqua and Forest Green. We also added delicious accents of Tangerine, Magenta and Lilac to keep it fresh and unique to Community Pharmacy England.
Squares drawn from the logo then formed the basis of the brand’s colourful pattern, inspired by the flocking formations of starlings in flight, to symbolise Community Pharmacy England uniting the sector and working together to get the best deal for members.
A respected sector leader
As well as building a closer relationship with members, Community Pharmacy England wanted to build its credibility as a sector leader among the press, public and policymakers. Since the new brand launched in June 2023, Community Pharmacy England has been doing exactly that, with great results.
Along with others in the sector, Community Pharmacy England collaborated with the ITV Tonight team on a documentary, ‘Tonight: ‘Pharmacies: The New NHS Frontline?’. The programme sheds light on a growing crisis in the community pharmacy sector in England, and its impact on patients. The documentary aired in January 2024 and featured and interview with Community Pharmacy England's CEO Janet Morrison.
A sector-leading visual identity
The Community Pharmacy England rebrand is one of six on the Transform Awards shortlist for the Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals sector – a category we have won before.
Andrew Thomas, Publisher at Transform Magazine, said, “This is the fifteenth year for the Transform Awards in Europe and the calibre and number of entries just gets better and bigger. This year we saw double digit growth on top of last year’s record number of submissions. I am so pleased to see IE Brand and Digital once more reach the shortlist.”
Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will be announced in April at an event to celebrate the transformative power of brand strategy and design.
The calibre and number of entries just gets better and bigger. The submissions in this year's awards have been fantastic – it was a pleasure and a privilege to see, close up, such strong work. I am so pleased to see IE Brand once more reach the shortlist. Congratulations.Andrew Thomas
