pfeg Nominated for Innovation Award

The IE team is delighted that that our client – pfeg (Personal Finance Education Group) – has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award at the Education Resources Awards 2014 – awards recognising quality and diversity of educational products, resources, services and people.

pfeg – the UK’s leading financial education charity – has been shortlisted in recognition of the dramatic impact delivered by their “Get Money Smart Campaign.”

Made possible by generous donations from Martin Lewis – founder of MoneySavingExpert.com – the free education packs – including eye-catching posters designed by IE – are for children aged up to 7, 11, 14 and 16 and have been sent to every primary and secondary school in the UK. The goal of the resource is to support teachers and get children thinking and talking about money through an engaging range of scenarios including; weekly shopping, comparing mobile phone tariffs and budgeting for holidays.

Since launch the packs have enjoyed a fantastic response, being covered on Sky News and receiving the support of over 40 MPs.

The awards ceremony takes place on the 21st March at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, in front of more than 400 guests from primary, secondary and specialist schools, FE colleges, universities and local authorities.

This nomination is great news for pfeg and IE, and further builds on public recognition received at the Charity Times Awards 2013 and the Cream Awards 2013.

Fiona Ellis, pfeg’s Director of Education, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Get Money Smart has been recognised as a contender for the Innovation Award.  It is so important that we break the British taboo and get children talking about money and personal finance – and our Get Money Smart posters are a great way for teachers to introduce these crucial topics.”

IE has a long and successful history of projects with pfeg, initially beginning working with them in 2011 and since delivering a host of creative design, digital and brand work for the charity.

IE’s Managing Director Ollie Leggett said: “pfeg is one of IE’s most valued clients – we are delighted that our work with them continues to enjoy high profile recognition at industry awards and to make a measurable difference to the lives of children and young people.”
